THIESS HEADQUARTERS
- SOUTH BANK - BRISBANE
Giving the Thiess
Centre an ultramodern look is Alpolic®
Cladding, fabricated and fitted in 1998 by Linton
Pacific Pty Ltd. The building exterior is clad
with Champagne Metallic Alpolic® on
the lower floors, while the upper six storeys
also have spandrels of Pale Copper.
The cladding of the roof soffit and struts presented
a challenge, as the material had to be bent around
curves. Linton Pacific had to develop new procedures
so the Alpolic® could be tapered with
diminishing radii on opposing faces of the struts.
The edge of the soffit has a bull nose profile,
curving vertically and horizontally where it meets
the roof. This also had to be specially designed
and fabricated. Because Alpolic® is
so light, it made the installation process much
easier than using conventional materials such
as CFC.
The high tech fluoro polymer paint process will
also outlast other composite aluminium panels
using conventional PVDF finishes.
A large percentage of Linton Pacific's work involves
one-off, custom designs and working closely with
Architects, This project was very well suited
to us.

Aluminium
Composite Panel (ACP)
ACP is a
most suitable product to show off the impression
of your building. Modern and of significant
quality.
Features
A very long consistent
and uniform life with minimum deterioration
in paint appearance - Alpolic® fluoro
polymer paint, Alucobond® PVF2 paint.
Exceptionally low maintenance requirements,
virtually self cleaning by rainfall.
Totally waterproof (sealed cassette system).
High degree of insulation easily added - BCA
2006.
Light weight, rigid but can be curved and shaped
to be unique to your exclusive design.
Requirements
A well engineered quality installation with
no compromises.
The full benefit of long life and exceptional
appearance relies on correct design & installation
procedures.
Framing, fixing and sealing components must
match the quality of the panel.
Manufacturers warranties only apply if accredited
fabricators are used (Alpolic®).
Three different systems of installation.
Cassette Fully Sealed
Our most popular
and reliable system.
Warranty 100% x 10 to 15 years.
Extended with inspection plan to 40 years.
The panel is fabricated into a cassette unit
then conceal mechanical fixed to a sub frame
of aluminium or galvanized steel. The joint
between panels is sealed with non bleed silicone
of equal warranty. The cassette panels can have
insulation value easily and cost effectively
enhanced prior to installation.
Cassette Dry
Joint
Notable installation,
Princess Alexandra Hospital Brisbane Main building,
Central Energy Building - By Linton Pacific.
Enables the designer to create shadow lines
between panels. Some years ago it was considered
desirable to eliminate mastic sealant because
the sealant manufacturer could not match the
panel manufacturer's warranty.
Today the specialist sealants that we use can
achieve extended warranty periods and have design
life matching the panel.
A rain shield is recommended when specifying
"dry joint" system.
Flat Panel -
Butt Joint
As the name suggests,
the panel is an unfabricated piece.
It is fixed by adhesive to the sub framing and
can optionally be sealed or unsealed. A
rain shield is recommended when specifying "flat
panel" system.
Rain shield can comprise aluminium sheets, galvanised
flat sheet or sarking paper (in order of quality/cost).
NOTE: A well designed and installed Alpolic®
or Alucobond® façade will
build value to your project from day one and
will demonstrate great economies due to durability
and very low maintenance costs as the building
ages.
